Irisa is a big sister now!!

Above are some pics of Irisa before lil brother is out.
First time having cotton candy and she really enjoy it. Some carnival thingy for MP at our void deck so brought her down to see the little children from PAP and some other nursery performing. Balloons scultpure, popcorns and some stalls too. Too rowdy i feel.
Last outing before she gets 'confine' at home with mummy who is doing confinement. We went to Jurong Point for Mummy's crave - Teppanyaki and grocery shopping. Had a long day and the next day lil brother came out..
Irisa is a big sister now. She simply adore her little brother but sometimes cant understand the 'kan cheong' tt we have over little brother and tend to be a bit of jealous. Trying hard to shower her more TLC. But whatever we do with her brother, she wants a share too. Like putting Baby on her lap, kissing her brother etc. Cant wait when her brother is more grown up and see what she have up her sleeve. Will she be the 'naughty' one or little brother is the naughty one??
Some updates on her development:
1) Have 'totally' wean her off the bottle drinking. Nw she drinks from her straw cup for her milk in the morning and night. (why i '' the totally, cos sometimes if in the wee hours, we haf to give her bottle)
2) Is able to express herself with short sentences, explaining what she wants, what happens and why
3) Will help to throw little brother's clothing into laundry basket for us, fetch brother's milk btl etc. Great Helper for baby brother
4) Can say or should i say 'blabber' 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & A, B, C, D, E.
5) Loves to play with her soft toys - Barney, Woof Woof & Moo Moo
6) Can identify the animals - Cow, Dog, Cat, Elephant, Duck & Sheep, and she can imitate the sounds too
7) Can 'blabber' & sing Twinkle Twinkle & Baa Baa Black Sheep in her own language
A lot more but then cant remember off-hand to update for now.

Irisa latest Vocab & Expressive Self

Irisa's vocabuary has grown since the last I have updated. She is able to make very short sentences of about 4-5 words. Most common phrase:
Mummy beat Daddy!
Mummy, No-no.. and so on...

She can say words like:

Koo = Cry in chinese

Bao = Full in chinese

Sui = Sleep in chinese

Ta = Beat in chinese & Beat

Yi Yi = Dirty in meaning

Siew Siew = Shame in chinese when she sees half naked man

Eat, Please, Baby, Pain, Watch, Oh-oh when something drops, and a lot more that I cant really recall too.

See the cheeky gal above, she loves the free cap from Huggies goodies bag.. Everyday will wear it and play with her guitar.. Yes, we bought her a real toy guitar and she simply loves it. She will bring out the guitar when she sees cartoon character singing with guitar or those performance variety show with singing & guitar... hahahhaa.. so cute & amused to see her doing that.

Irisa has also grown to be more expressive. She will exclaimed in excitement, 'YEAH, mum-mum' whenever its meal time or her snack time. Even when we are out now, she will still play with the menu but once she sees food coming, she will return watever toys/menus/anything on hand and says 'YEAH, mum-mum' and ask for food.. so cute.. Feels like she getting older & more able to understand.

She can also know when we are driving in to car parks of shopping malls, relatives houses, reach home etc. And she will ask to wear her shoes (usually out half way thru the car ride), keep the pacifier etc.. Oh ya, did I mention that she finally able to say Pacifier in 'tutu'!! YES... She managed to do that. Last time always signalled by using a 'click' sound done with her tongue. so cute.. It jus pop out 1 day like that and surprise me..

Have gotten her a new Queen size bed to bunk in with Grandma. Hopefully she will be used to it and vice versa. Kinda worried cos Grandma getting old & Irisa is a 'rough' sleeper.. Hopefully in another 2 yrs time, Irisa & Lil Bro will be out of Mummy & Daddy room...

Irisa at 20 Months Old

Irisa at 20 Months Old (Today, 20 Months 2 Weeks)

Irisa has become more verbal and more expressive. Now she will make short sentences, wants to help in housechores (aranging the groceries when back from supermarket, throwing own diaper & setting up the clothes etc before going to shower and so on)

She will also take the lead in saying she want to shower after she pooed, feels warm & sweaty, or telling me she want Milo after her afternoon nap, 'mum mum' when she feels hungry.

She also can help in simple task, asking Daddy out from Study Rm to eat, Helping Daddy & Mummy pass simple Yes/No msg.

Her favourite pass time now is Dancing & Watching Barney DVDs.

Favourite food, Cream of Mushroom Soup and all kinds of soups.. Gonna learn to make the soups so tt I can make yummilicious, MSG-free soup for her & Daddy..

Another interesting thing, she must say 'Bye Bye' to her tee, if she is wearing something with Barney on it. And she will exclaimed with happiness when she sees Barney product while outside shopping..

Her 1st try at Cotton Candy. She is scare of its fluffy texture.. End up I was the one who finished up.. I guess only Marshmallow is her good fren..

Brought her to Seafood Harvest at Concorde Hotel and she had a fun nite, doing all sort of expressions with us.. Now, she will choose who she wanna take photos with too...

You can see her enjoying the Cream of Seafood Chowder soup..

Irisa New Stunt

This whole week we stayed at my aunt's plc cos Daddy went overseas for 1 week. In terms of marketing, eating is a whole lot easier cos it is a mature estate. Luckily for Irisa, there is someone to play with here as well. (cos mummy tummy getting bigger and heavier lo)

There we were, watching a variety show on Channel 8 about slimming. It showed them doing stretching, push up etc.. And there she was, forcing my uncle to follow her imitating all the steps from TV. Suddenly someone doing the Push-ups and she follows.. Watch the video til the end and you can burst out in laughter...

The nxt day, I was packing all the stuff and getting ready our barang to go home. I told her to take her backpack to keep all the toys outside, without expecting her to really do it. End up she slots all her toys into the backpack pockets, front & back. And brought me all those tt can't be put in. Oh my, she is really getting more grown up.. I cant wait for lil brother to come out & see how she will care & dote on him.. My precious angel is growing up day & day. Sometimes it is getting so fast tt I didnt even realised it..

Irisa & a Lazy Saturday Brunch

Today we brought Irisa to Dempsey for a late brunch.. We went to this place called CA, California (The Ranch Home which also houses the Ben & Jerry place). It is a nice environment, not too rowdy. We ordered 2 breakfast, 1 from the standard menu & 1 for Kids to share. Irisa really enjoyed the sausage & eggs but didnt like the seared potatoes.. After that, we ordered a Belgian Choc Ice Cream Waffle to indulge. Yummy and she was licking the Hot Fudge topping off her spoon. I guess she must have really enjoy her meal & dessert.

And yes, Times Flies.. Really Flies.. Irisa is growing up each day. Now she really show that she got that flair or rather the creativity in music. She learns some of the lyics and movements from watching her Barney DVDs. She will sing along, dance along and imitate the way they dance around in the show. And now, her favourite past time in the day while waiting for Mummy to play with her or when she is being asked to wait, she might jus break into a high tone of singing Justin Bibier - Baby. I guess the chorus part is too catchy and easy for her to learn tt she will jus go, 'Baaaaby, Baby, Oooooo.....' And sometimes she will grab a toy or the TV remote and pretend tt she is playing the guitar along with her own singing. We managed to catch a bit of it on our camera video. Here it goes:

I am just to happy to be able to see her grow each day, at home to bond with her. I seriously loving every single day of my life. It is such a fulfilling yet tiring job to be at home with her. But I love her, Irisa Baby...

Irisa at 19 Months 2 Weeks

New Developments
She likes to watch Barney
She loves to imitate the drama actor & actress, esp when she sees 'dancing' related scene
She loves to talk over the phone
She recognises each ringtone for mummy phone, daddy phone & great-grandma phone
She loves juices (Heinz), milo except for WATER
She can brush her own teeth very well
She knows how to OFF/ON the fan
She will wakes up w/o crying from the room, run out and give mummy a hug
She loves to say HI to everyone, including strangers outside
She can understand instructions to bring me my HP, remote etc.. (best part, she knows where i hide them)
She simply loves to help around the house..
Lately, we brought her to a lot of makan places.. Lawry's, Changing Appetite, Dim Sum, Hi-Tea etc.. And she loves them.. But sometiemes tend to misbehave and make a lot of noise. Most of the times is because she wants to self-feed, or help herself, wanting to be independent at this age.. I seriously wonder its a good thing or bad..
Oh, and did i mention she is very good in imitating the way we do chores around the house.. Yes, she is very good at it.. So if u need an extra pair of help for some light duties, she is the one to fall back on...
Now her favourite past time at home is either BB TV, Barney or using all sorts of 'toys' she find and pretend to be talking over the phone with her Ah-Gu(s) & Ah-Yi(s).. And I seriously cant stand it.. ANd when she sees a singing adver, she wil use the remote control and pretend to sing along.. And yes, those opera kind of singing she does..

A clip that shows how she helps my aunt in some kitchen chores.. And seems to be pretty good at it..

Irisa at 18 Months Old

Been a while since I update Irisa growth & development.. Reason: Irisa gonna be a big sister to her little bro this year end.

Irisa has learnt a number of words so far & clearly pronounce them:
Lao-gu, Lao-yi, Lao-ma, Ah-gu, Ah-yi, Mummy, Daddy, Didi, JieJie, GorGor, Ma Ma, Po Po, Gong gong (can address clearly)
No-no, Yes, Ball, Rou-rou (meat in chinese), Milk, Neh-neh (in dialect), Pong-pong (to bath), Gai-gai (in dialect), Shui (water in chinese), Nice Nice

She loves to lie on the sofa and watch TV, can express herself when she fall by telling us where pain and fall where
She can take off her shoes on her own and put back in the shoe cupboard
She brush her teeth and clean her face in the morning (haven really learnt to gurgle yet & as of now she gt 3 molars and 4 teeth)
She can self-feed herself, using a fork for food like sausages, bread, pancakes etc..
She can wipe her own mouth and wash her hands (with help) and then throw away her own wipes after using too..
She will say she is 'Nice Nice' when she is dressed up, hair tied up and getting ready to go out, or even after her bath..

There is a number of things she have achieved so far.. And the most funny part is when you ask her, 'Where is DIDI?' She will come to mummy, flip up my tee and kiss my stomach and saying while pointing, 'DIDI'.. So cute...
She also loves to imitate 'Singing' from TV commercials, Dancing, and various actions that catches her attention from TV.. Though TV might be a bad influence at this time, but i feel there is also some positive influence as you can see the number of things she slowly picks up. So long by her side guiding her, I think everything can be done moderately..

Hi-Tea Buffet at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts
A day of hi-tea with Daddy & Mummy, Grandma, Great-Grandma & all... Fun day and she enjoyed feeding herself with the nuggets, muffins and not forgetting her indulgence in the marshmallows...

KL Trip (June)
Went for a short trip over the weekends with Daddy & Great Grandma to do some shopping... Ohh.. Nice food and bought a lot of clothes for Irisa's little brother as well as for her too... I think she simply enjoyed herself....
